Anyone willing to thread a Gendry with me? I wanted to do something that takes place right after the group arrives at Harrenhal, or a thread that takes place right before. I’m willing to start (even have an opener) and also very much willing to hear other ideas! Be it fluff, angst, gruesome, tragic, dark, AU, What-if; I’m up for it all. ..takes place after Yoren’s death before they arrive at Harrenhal.

She still couldn’t sleep – now she couldn’t even rest her eyes. Behind closed lids, the blackness was haunted with gruesome faces. For now, it wasn’t only her father’s face that kept her awake, but Yoren’s and Lommy’s as well. Their final words, the gurgles of blood filling their mouths and drowning their lungs, the shocked fear in their eyes, and the cruel laughter of the murderers that followed – they refused to leave her be, and the harder she tried to ignore everything, the stronger it would become. And if by chance she did manage to fall asleep, her nightmares would quickly pull her back to the surface, gasping for oxygen and covered in a cold sweat.

She didn’t even try tonight, knowing her efforts were pointless and would only leave her frustrated. It was easier to remain upright, still and motionless, huddled in a ball staring blindly forward than lie down and toss and turn. By the time the cloaks had them stop for the night, every single person was exhausted – the pace much faster and more demanding than Yoren had pushed them. Plus the Gold Cloaks viewed them as expendable prisoners, nothing more but shackled slaves, beating the ones who fell behind and refusing them food or water. They weren’t even allowed a fire to keep warm, and most had to huddle together to fight the cold chill.

She was staring at them – the Cloaks huddled around the fire, laughing and jeering – with a look that promised a long death. Her hands were chained together, the steel heavy and large around her small wrists. Her mind was once again reminded of Yoren’s face, and she was somewhat surprised to feel the sorrow receding, being replaced with something much more dark and deadly. Her fury – it was dangerous - a wolf’s blood thirst pulsating through her body. It was the type of anger that blinded a person from reason or logic.

These men – these animals who had killed her father, her teacher, her friend, her only way back home – Joffrey’s men, they all deserved painful, slow ends, and she wanted to be the one who brought it. Consequences be damned, she just wanted to see the same fear in their eyes that they had mercilessly forced in others.

Her tired gaze fell on the man who had stolen Needle from her, and her eyes darkened as she watched him use the weapon to stroke the fire before them. Narrowing her eyes, she felt her frozen finger shake as she clenched them into small fists, attempting to control the anger that was consuming her.
